Here it is December already! How did that happen? I have had this on my mind to write since mid-November–but it’s never to late to find ways to reduce the stress, ease the pain, & increase the joy of the Season of Lights, whatever you celebrate, or even if you don’t (you are probably still affected by all of the busyness, consumerism, and sometimes chaos and drama all around you).
If you are lucky, you are involved in mindfulness practices, maybe yoga or chi gong, some form of meditation, a connection with a Higher or Deeper Power, or connecting with inner helpers on a daily basis to help guide you through EVERY day—and when the holidays hit, those practices allow you some centeredness and ease–KEY energies to embody at this time.
But I’d like to add more…dig a little deeper…reach into the metaphysical toolbox to bring you a few more clues to make the way more merry and bright. What follows are some ideas that I hope will bring more Grace at this time to you and loved ones (share this with friends, or even if you don’t, they will benefit by your new way of being “in holiday mode.”).
ASTROLOGY
Let me be clear: I am not an astrologer, nor do I play one on TV. I am a psychic. But I feel the energies of the various signs, and I am always amazed how strongly correlated the signs are with some of our seasons and rituals. In (mostly) August, time of joyful Leo, I usually feel much “joy of Being” in the air clearly. At the end of October through end of November, the “death and mystery vibe” for which Scorpio is known, translates to Halloween and Day of the Dead. And come approximately November 22, the expansive energies of Sagittarius take over. So, no matter what your own sign, you are influenced to do more, buy more, eat more, celebrate more, and possibly exhuast yourself more! But there is an alternative, if you pay close attention to the deeper, truer meaning of the zodiacal energy. Sagittarius is also about higher energies, philosophy, social connecting. Have you noticed how easily the higher energies of Light are available to touch into in the weeks around December’s Solstice? This makes this period SUCH a great time to unplug from as many of the seasonal demands as possible, and go inward and meditate. And, if you are socially busier than usual (as most are), use that great Sag energy to forge deeper or new connections based on the fun, uplifting energy of the sign. Meanwhile, knowing the energy signature of Sagittarius is about expansion, you can be super aware of the urge to buy, eat, drink, or otherwise consume in too large amounts. If you DO overindulge, know that stern, disciplined Capricorn comes to pass about 10 days before New Year’s. So if you start reigning things in at that point, you will have cosmic support and a head start on New Year’s resolutions!
DOWSING, MUSCLE TESTING, TAROT OR ORACLE CARDS, INNER LISTENING, ETC.
Shall I buy this gift or that one? Will I derive more benefit if I stay home or go to the party? Do I want to venture out in this beautiful snowstorm, or will it dull my immunity? Which flight should I book to see family? Should I invite this family over on the same day as this other family? How will action A affect action B? Many use any of the tools above for making decisions and find such tools invaluable all year-round. Sometimes when we most need the help, or to slow down and listen, we forget. Remember to use these gems in the busy season! If you are new to, or don’t use such tools, it’s never too late to begin. You can find endless online resources. Just be aware, if it’s a new skill, your answers may not always be as clear or accurate. But it usually can’t hurt to try.
HEALING MUSIC
Nothing quite like the seemingly endless array of cosmic and healing and prosperity and centering and on-and-on music that one can find on YouTube for free. These can make a world of difference to your state whilst wrapping gifts, out and about if you have a smartphone for listening, or even being able to meditate when events have you too wound up. Look up “Healing Music” on YouTube if you aren’t sure where to begin.
WILD DANCE, SCREAMING WITH ABANDON…
Just mentioning these
incredible
centering
activities.
In case you forgot.
WATER, WATER, WATER
Stay hydrated!…if in cold climates, you may not realize how much indoor heaters contribute to feeling poorly through the dehydration factor. And if you can gaze into water, get into a warm bath or hot tub, be anywhere around water, it is supremely healing for most people, and can instantly calm and bring you back to yourself.
What are your favorite ways? Please add below! We’d all love to know what helps you through the season!
