“I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right temporarily defeated is stronger than evil triumphant.” -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

In my role as a psychic and healer, my focus is on the inner life of you, my client, and also how to help you live better and with more ease in the world. In my view, that world is a part of the equation of what shapes us, helps us, stresses us, what we swim in and contend with.
So I choose to remind us all of what my country has designated this day: one honoring the memory of a man who fought against terrible odds for a world where all could become equal in rights and opportunities. As a Baptist minister with a gift of oration, his vision and passion compelled him to advocate for these human rights in a non-violent manner.

How do we envision, work for, fight for such a world in current times? Many of you are weary from natural disasters, the rise of fascism and oligarchy in places you never dreamed it could possibly exist, and all the business of living, loss, and changes. Of course, first always: there is the need to fuel yourself with the many tools of self-care foremost, to the best of your ability. You will find numerous blog posts on this site with ideas, and the internet and world is rife with classes, programs, sharing of tools from meditation to yoga to neuroplasticity and SO much more now.
And then, how to process and proceed forward? Another, more difficult but inspiring thought of Dr. King’s comes to mind:
“Now let us begin. Now let us dedicate ourselves to the long and bitter, but beautiful, struggle for a new world.”
The world is not always an easy place, to be sure. Sometimes personal growth is like that too. The world can mirror and reflect your inner turmoils, even when you feel that you are a good person, things should be easier, and certainly the world should behave differently! In my decades of work listening to people’s sufferings, most clients want (& I want for them) a why and wherefore for the stuck or even anguished place they are in.

However what it comes down to is more often than not, guidance in how to move ahead and cope. Sometimes a great letting go of what has been or hoped for is needed, and tools are given by my Guides. But the great big “why life is like it is” for them, does not always come through.
How does this relate to Dr. King, and to you? You may not understand why things are as they are now, how it or you got to be this way, and want explanations from the Universe! I understand this feeling, believe me. Yet, it seems to be a time on this planet of increasing urgency to just be as fully present as possible with your passions for the world and life you wish. To live from your own deep wellsprings of hope and heart. Community helps. Self-care helps. Courage helps. And looking frequently to those who have bravely, selflessly, courageously in the past brought the passion in their hearts into changing the world, helps.
